Many sources have suggested a missed target or "higher return rate" for the new BlackBerry PlayBook, which has resulted in RIM releasing a statement. RIM references the Best Buy comment below:
“Best Buy has had great success selling BlackBerry smartphones in North America, so our sales expectations for the BlackBerry PlayBook were very high. To date, we have far exceeded those expectations and we’re finding that customers are even more interested in purchasing once they’ve tested the PlayBook in the store.”
Sources are suggesting a 7% return rate, with sales missing expectations by nearly 90%. RIM launched the PlayBook tablet on April 19th, and has sold approximately 250,000 PlayBook tablets during the first month.
