Microsoft Surface Tablet: Starting At $199

The nicely polished tablet recently unveiled by Microsoft is only a couple months away from being available. Many have pegged the release date for the Surface to be October 26th, but there has been no mention of the price structure. According to an anonymous tipster, the Surface is expected to be available starting at $199.

It appears that since Microsoft is late to the tablet war, it is going to use the powerful price-point weapon for the initial attack. With the stranglehold on the PC/Laptop operating system, Microsoft needs to get people to try their mobile operating system since barely anyone has used a Microsoft smartphone. Windows has officially declared war on Android and iOS!

Confusing iPhone ShortCuts

This would be a funny prank to pull on your (you're) significant other, except (accept) that she may dump your (you're) ass for doing it.

Can you think of any other good shortcuts to set?

Kindle Fire Tablet With Amazon Prime

Finally, Android has a tablet product that has success writing on it's touchscreen. Luckily, the Kindle Fire operating system looks nothing like Android on the surface. The Kindle "Fire" will cost only $199.99, and have a 7-inch IPS color display, 8GB memory, and will have Wi-Fi connectivity for browsing the web and purchasing content.

The Kindle Fire comes with a 30-day free trial of Amazon's Prime, giving you access to thousands of streaming videos and movies.

A couple downsides to the Kindle Fire are the lack of 3G capability, and lacking camera and microphone. Also the limited multitouch screen which is really only a "two point" multi-touch screen. The iPad has a "10-point" multi-touch, but is larger.

Shipping November 15th, preorder today. Amazon is sure to be successful on the lower income crowd with the price-point at less than have of the iPad 2. Apple and the iPad are premium brand and finally someone has been successful in filling the void for those that don't want to pay a premium.

Fusion Garage: Grid 10 Tablet, Grid 4 Smartphone

After beating the iPad to market and failing miserably with the JooJoo, Fusion Garage managed to regroup and is previewing the Grid 10 Tablet. TabCo (aka Fusion Garage) has been teasing a tablet for a few weeks now, and now they are introducing 2 new products.

Grid 10 Tablet

This tablet runs an all new Grid OS, based on the Android kernel but doesn't look like Gingerbread or Honeycomb. The Grid 10 has 1366x768 resolution (10-inch display), 1.3MP front/5MP rear camera, 16GB storage, 2.1 BlueTooth, a microSD slot, and a NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip.

The WiFi-only Grid 10 tablet sells for $499 and the WiFi-3G version is $599. Shipment expected for November. Hopefully this tablet doesn't disappear like the Kno did last year.

Grid 4 Smartphone

If you're looking for a mini version, the Grid 4 smartphone runs the same modified Grid OS. This smartphone includes a 4-inch display, Qualcomm dual-core CPU, 16GB storage, 800x480 resolution, and 0.3MP front/5MP rear camera.

The Grid 4 smartphone runs $399 unlocked and is expected to ship before Thanksgiving.
